Proposal
A.
Introduction
One of way to improve speaking skill is
memorizing vocabulary, without vocabulary we will not know what will we say or
speak.
I’m here as researcher, will try research
about “ The influence memorizing vocabulary to improve speaking skill”.
a.
The time and place
Here I will research the students for two
weeks, to research the students, and I’m sure during 2 week, during 2 week, I
will be success on what I research. I will research at SDN III Sedonglor, why?
Because, at SDN III Sedonglor there are many the good teacher, and besides
that, the students here, has many skill, exactly in English, Matematic, IPA,
IPS always be excellent, and always be the champion every is there compitition.
I interested to research this school, because, I felt in this school is the
excellent school from others school.
b.
Population
The next, in three of class 5A, 5B, and 5C,
There are many student, are :
5A : 25
5B : 30
5C : 35
All
of student, from 5A until 5C are 90 students

Sample
And after that, here, I will take of
class from all of class, from 5A 10 students, 5B 10 student, 5C 10 students,
and all of students are 30 students. Well, From 30 students here, I will do
research.

Research Design
Before we will explain something, we
must know what is the meaning what from will we explain.
Quantitative
is the research that focus on objective phenomena to explained quantitative. H.M. Muspiqon, ( 2012 : 59 ).

Correlation
Between Vocabulary and Speaking
This
section reviews studies that dealt with relationships between vocabulary and
speaking. Four
points need to be made explicit before the review of previous studies.
First, the studies reviewed
were the ones that analyzed language that was produced orally first. Thus, the
following studies were not included: studies that analyzed language that was
produced first in a written text, which was then used as a spoken script (e.g., Hidai,
1999; Nomura, 2005).
Second, despite the fact that
each study interpreted speaking performance in its own way (e.g., speaking
ability or BICS Basic interpersonal communication skills] type speaking
ability), all are reviewed as “speaking performance” because this
interpretation had the fewest assumptions.
Third, as for types of vocabulary,
the term “productive” was only used when test takers were required to produce a
form. Otherwise, vocabulary targeted was considered to be receptive.
Fourth, although vocabulary can
be seen from a multi-word level (e.g., Ota, Kanatani, Kosuge, & Hidai, 2003, ;
Schmitt, 2004; Wray, 2002) as well as an individual level, only relationships between vocabulary at
the latter level and speaking are
reviewed.

As we know speaking is action of tell
information or express feel, think and idea. According to Chambers dictionary ( 1973 : 106 ), speaking is to say words, to
talk, to be able to talk a particular language. Hornby ( 1929 : 827 ) states that, speaking is make use of language
in an ordinary.
In speaking skill, we are very need the
vocabulary to speak or say something. So, here I wanna explain what is the
meaning of vocabulary. Krashen (1989) pointed out that “a large
vocabulary is, of course, essential for mastery of a language” as “without
vocabulary, nothing can be conveyed” (Wilkins, 1972). The vocabulary is
all the words that a person knows or uses, or all the words in a particular
language. The words that people use when they are talking about a particular
subject.
Khuat (2003) also accepted that vocabulary knowledge plays an
important role in learning a foreign language. Vocabulary is one element that
links the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing all together.
Vocabulary is a core component of language proficiency and provides much of the
basis for how well learners listen, speak, read, and write (Richards and
Renandya, 2002).
D.
Steps in conducting the research
The step that I will use are :
I will give five words everyday to the
students, besides that I will give the task to the students to make sentences
what from I give to them. After that I will do test to the students every one
week one time, the benefit I did test every one week one time is to know students’s
development.
E.
Technique and instrument of collecting data
Here I will use technique in this
research, that are :
a.
Interview
Interview here is to know the students’s
development, and the way to students’s development is the researcher ask to the
students about vocabulary that have been memoriezed during two weeks with the
way face to face. And the students can answer my question about vocabulary that
I given. But I’m not felt satisfied yet with my research, so I continued my
research with use method test, that is oral test
b.
Test
Test
here, I will use method oral test which I will give the task to the students to
make sentence what the vocabulary I give to them, with the way face to face
also. But the student can answer and can make sentence what the vocabulary I
give to them. My research is not satisfied yet only until here. So, I will do
test again with use method like is RANKING 1 that is there in TRANS TV every
morning at 07 30 WIB.
c.
Observation
In observation here, what I do? Here, I just
do give sentence in Indonesian language and the students just translate to
English, and method here is “who fast he
can”. From here, we can know the skills of the students and this method is
very good, because respond the student is very spirit to answer my question.
F.
Data Analysis
After I did test, that are interview, test,
and observation. I felt satisfied. And the result is also be success, the
students can answer the questions that I give to them. So it’s has been
cleared, that, memorizing vocabulary can make the students to improve in
speaking skill. I’m here as research is very, very satisfied, because my
research can be success and walk with nothing problems. And I will give the
information to the teachers in this world, that memorizing vocabulary can make
improve speaking skill, without vocabulary, we can’t say whatever, what will we
say, what will we speak. And I will compare with the others students, why?
Because all of them has the skill their self, so I will compare one student
with the others students.
